Truck driver killed in N3 crash

13 September 2010

A truck driver was killed when he was thrown from his out-of-control articulated vehicle on the N3 north bound carriageway in the vicinity of Key Ridge this morning.

The cause of the accident and details of events leading up the smash remain unclear. Paramedics arrived at the scene to find the truck’s trailer and cargo were in the north bound carriageway while the cab had come to rest on the extreme right hand side of the south bound lanes.

The truck driver’s body was found in the centre median and it would appear that he had been thrown from the vehicle. He had sustained polytraumatic injuries and had died prior to the arrival of medics.

He was declared dead at the scene.
